Indeed was a good day. And indeed, shame about the rain!
Saw a few cars and faces I recognised, and nice to chat to some friends from RRG09.

I took the header corks out and drove up, but I arrived at the gate at just gone 12 and it was lashing it down. I decided to give it a miss and head round to Jackhammer instead, who were having an open day. And now I'm £195 lighter Well actually ;D

I got out of bed looked out the window and got back into bed. Didn't fancy 2 hours drive in the rain, looks like quite a good turnout though. Some nice stuff there. Any more?

Well it was lovely and sunny at 7am when we left home to meet up with some mates for a cruise in, when we got into the arena it was still looking ok ish so we fired up the bacon roll machine. I'm used to bumping into VW mates at shows, but apart from the Gathering, I've never seen or chatted to so many RRers, first up was Mr Bogner, closely followed by PaulH and the people just kept coming, was great to see so many and thanks for all the good lucks to SWMBO, she did a sterling job trudging round in the rain ;D Anyway, back to the cars, first shot was probably one of the best of the day, not sure who was chatting to PaulH that noticed the shot first, but zoom saves walking Before we could leave the Camper I spied Rmad and Co snapping away too Then it really was time to check out what Wheels had to offer. Taxi! Muscle cars, Japanese saloons and hot rods may be cool, but when the rain comes pi$$ing down, how many of those can you take shelter in and make a brew

I'm afraid I too wussed it out, I did 80miles yesterday in the Land Rover rod and got beaten to pulp by the weather. I'm not one for usually making excuses, but at least Wheels Day is a well established favourite that isn't under threat... Shame for the organisers though
