I need to buy a cheap runabout for £300 tops, it needs to be reliable as i do quite a few miles at work....
Is 'cheap' and 'reliable' possible? cars for this price seems to be, micra's, metro's, fiesta's etc...
Not sure what to go for?

That's Oliver Webb's Pugsley. He's a stand up guy, former cpuk member and 104 nut, if that helps. It's still a shed, but at least you can trust it to be as described. He knows his 104's so at least it's been looked after!

Well i have bought a new retro ride today, A 1986 Volvo 340 GL for £200 complete with 12 months mot well slightly over 12 months as he took it in early. Seems to drive fine and is nice and solid - just need to get the fuel and temperature gauge working which i'm hoping is just a fuse... But well chuffed for £200!

Good plan ;D I run a 360GLT at the moment.. have you browsed www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk - there will be lots of advice Re-fuel/temp gauge.. sounds like one of the connectors at the back of the dash to me. Did you get the 1.4 or 1.7? The 1.4 is a blinding engine for what it is...
