Hi Guys.. I bought an old FTO wheel for my 88 Galant and it fits the splines without problems but fouls the surround.. Anyone know what I can do to extend the bit in the photo out my around 10mm? Ive seen boss kits, but they appear to be about 60mm etc which would move it too far out I think... Any help chaps? Last resort would be to get one made I suppose?

Would probably be easier to extend the shaft inside the engine bay. Not familiar with the Galant steering set up but you could maybe put a piece of bar in between the CV joint flanges for example which would be fairly easy to do if was same diameter as the flanges..... then you would only need to drill it and bolt it in to position with some longer bolts. That way it would extend the length into the car itself and you could always return it back to original spec' if needed.

Just one thing I forgot to mention before you start the job..... just check the clearances all the way along the shaft to make sure that nothing is going to cause an interference... especially around the bulkhead area and the engine too.
