well.. no update on this for about a year. its just kinda plodded on , then sat in the road for the summer whilst i played with the celica and mazda. those two are now sorned for the winter so time to do something with this. plan was just to mot and replace the clutch- this has been slipping o almost a year now- i killed it at the last play day i went to. gradually got worse, now struggles to go over 30mph without slipping . , use it for getting firewood and other workhorse type stuff. not spend too much time or money so i can concentrate on me celica and get sorted for the gathering next year(this year was best car related day out ive ever had) failed mot on a few bits, and a bit of welding. only expense was a new exhaust, £70 from ebay so not too bad i guess. problem was i kinda wanted to celebrate it getting an mot by rewarding it with toys so accidently painted it again, just a roller job this time in nato green. 2.5l for £21 delivered ;D still got about 1/4 tin left too. that was gonna be it. i had a set of 8x15 wheels i bought last year and never did anything with them so was gonna swap my tyres over ...... then i got over excited, a mate had bought some new tyres for his surf- some silly sized 35's so was selling his old tyres, would have been rude not to today i intended to start on the clutch . bough the clutch before last xmas, its been on the landing since cos I'm lazy like that. made a start but kept thinkin about the tyres n wheel situation, so dug out the wheels and slapped some paint on them wanted to do something with them, cant afford vinyl wrap so opted for travellerwrap on the dish stuck the tape on and then warmed with a hairdryer ( received as a birthday present because i bought an mx5) couple of bubbles but come out ok with a bit of a squeeze ;D and car finished the day up on blocks peeing gearbox oil out, , got as far as removing the propshafts and gear levers , clutch/speedo cables. will try finish this week when I'm off tyres hopefully fitted this week, then a 2" bodyl ift "Because I'm worth it"

Now thats pretty cool! How about heavy tints on the windows? Definite drop required - You have reaffirmed my intention to slam my old black mk 1 RAV 4, paint it NATO green and go military chic for the winter!

well a bit like yours they have a removeable hardtop section, when i bought the truck it had this removed and a tailgate roughly tacked to the hole that was left, but had literally double-fist sized gaps either side of it, and huge voids underneath (its a crinkly floor so was just resting on the ridges) so yeah had a big welding and sealing session, boxed in the sides, made a tonneau cover the lighter rear end gave about a 2" lift, did the front bar to match, changed the front bumper to that small one as the original dug in going down steep slopes, then gave it a rattle, oh and the 31" tyres 2.8 turbo D, unstoppable! only sold it as got offered 400 quid more than what it owed me!!! heres a few pics of it pre bumper/paint...

righto, managed to change the clutch the other day- finally, after it slipping for just over a year and as a reward I got the tyres swapped over and fitted them today. have a couple of pics much better. sort off. gonna have to do some "pruning". the mudflaps catch when I turn and make a sound a bit like when ya put a piece ofcard from a ready brek box in the spoke of your bike. this is fun untill I went to see my dad who lives in a cul de sac. had to do a three point turn in his road. this is when I found that going backwards makes the tyres want to rip the mudflap, arch and wing off. so had to do a 37 point turn. also need to trim the bumper a little. but gonna lift the body and suspension a bit too which will help. much prefer it like this. the other wheels were just to skinny and didnt even come close to filling the arches. ;D

oooOOOooo that looks AWESOME!!! you may have to rip out the arch liners i had to on mine when i fitted the big tyres, as long as you give it a jetwash after getting dirty its all good looks totally epic though, the rims rule, so does the whole nato green/yellow tint them, good work just needs a big winch or some hench rope up front now
