I love these early Audi koops too. there was a lad on here had a beautiful blue early one, unfortunatley he gave it a cretinous matt dulux paint job These often wink at me from www.leboncoin.fr

well since owning it i have managed to find out what is wrong with the passenger seat, smoothen out the idle, fit the door cars nicer, find the cause of the gearstick slack, and locate most of the oil leaks (rocker gasket and oil cap)
will be going over the suspension next and engine mounts as theres slight banging going over bumps,
also a rebuilt 2.2 will more than likely going into it to replace the current engine with 170k on it

i have managed to locate the play in the gear stick which is due to nackered rubbers so am trying to source some new ones,
also the sunroof wasnt sitting flush so looking further into that i need a new mechanism sadly but I'm on the hunt as we speak!

Hey Jim. Great buy mate that is a weapon! Had my eye on it a couple of times- saw it on pistonheads about 6 months ago and seriously considered selling my capri and all my possessions to buy it! Looks great with the kamei kit which I imagine are very rare now-especially factory fitted. Defo think the arches need to be filled with some wider rims though! How about something like these- 15x7 lenso's which are about £350 off th'ebay, but I'm sure you could pick up some similar ones for cheaper..

Looks to me like it's had a later interior - A-reg is quite late for the four-square lamps but that interior (seats and door cards) is the same as my cq from 1986.
Looks like a nice clean one though, and the mileage is nothing.

yes the interior isnt the original one, and I'm not sure about the headlights tbh, although i just bought it for its looks, and i love the shape and 5 pot sound, not overly bothered on its originality as i will be doing bits and bobs too it found out today that i need a few bits on the suspension and that its lowered already which is handy, along with 4 new shocks all round not sure what way to go with alloys, but I'm thinking nothing bigger than 16's tbh, i agree with you that the current wheels are curse word though lol
