Stick them on ebay, snap on stuff never makes a fortune, the main reason people buy the stuff is because you can get it on credit, should make a few hundred but wont make anywhere near its new cost i'm afraid.

as mr. toaster says. the only reason people buy it is convenience. delivered to you by a man in a van, bought on the knock with no credit checks, and the masquerade of 'quality' and a 'warranty' (ive had real issue with getting S-O to replace stuff, i had to go to head of UK customer services at head offices to get a measly 1/4" drive ratchet mech replaced ) additionally, I don't want to offend, but most of what youve got is old/outdated/low-end anyway, so will never make much. for example, the electric impact gun is an early one and not a patch on the newer stuff, same with bluepoint rattle gun. the allen keys and pliers are cheapest in the ranges, plus you have a lot of single items/oddments rather than full sets, full sets sell for a good price, single items peanuts. youve probably got £300-350 worth if you clean it all up and split it up into sets on ebay. but, PM me a price on the little eurotools 1/4" set , I need another set for in the car

job lot? youd only get 200-250.
anybody who has any amount of s-o will already have most of what youre selling as they're the first items you buy, and they're not gunna buy the lot just for one or two items, so youve lost more than half your market by not splitting it.

well i don't believe there only worth £200-£300 with the box?? surley there worth more than that?? the intention of selling would be as a starter kit for some one,not for someone who already has loads.

it might not be what you want to hear, but I think its an accurate valuation. as I say, start splitting it up, and youllg et more.
when my brother in law started his apprenticeship as a mechanic/mot tester 2 years ago, I got him a used set of snap-on at auction as his 'starter set'. there was two boxes, a top box the same as that and a 6-deep drawer mid-box, with pretty much three times as much tooling- all the drawers were crammed full to the point they would barely close. 3x sets of spaners in different lengths, a dozen screwdrivers, T-bar allen keys, a torque wrench, 3x socket rails, hammers, fulls et of prybars, chisels, ratchet spanners, swivel-box wrenches, 2x ratchets and half a dozen extensions+ breaker bar, t-bar, brace, etc. multiple pliers snips, circlip pliers, pipe wrench, then specialist stuff like ring compressors, oil filter wrenches, compression tester, plus loads of odd assorted stuff from mac and blue-point, which I got for £370 at auction. granted it was more dirty/used, but a weekend spent cleaning and polishing it all and sorting it into sets, and it looks near new.

I managed to get £380 for my snap off set and it was similar to yours but also included the 5 drawer bottom box with some odds and sods chuckd in for good measure and a small compresor with some air tools. to be honest i would just keep it if i where you as what you will get for it wont replace it if you know what i mean.

When I sold a full set of Britool, for me the best place was a car boot sale! People snapped them up.

have a look on ebay, lots of stuff on there with no bids on it, in the current climate people are making do and not many people will be buying expensive starter sets, those in the trade will be getting stuff on credit from the van as it come round, bear in mind you can get a lot of Halfords pro tools for 300 quid, the 200 quid socket set comes with a lot of what you have in yours and you get the lifetime warranty on it which you wont get with second hand snap on stuff.

I have to agree with Dez's argument. It kind of falls between groups of potential buyers as a job lot. As it is, you'll have people blaming the current economic climate for being skint (I blame my lack of self control with Mr Plastic but that's a different story ) and you will get nowhere near what you think it is worth. A mechanic starting out will probably buy the whole lot on credit and worry about cost after the 30days, an established mechanic would already have most, if not all of what he needed and just replaced things as stuff gets broken and amateurs like me will spend their whole lives building their tool collection because we only buy things as we need them/feel flush/break the cheap tat we started out with. If it were me, I'd be selling my gran before my tools, but if she was already gone, then I'd be splitting it and ebaying...

you could always put it up for sale at a price you need, and if it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell. I already have that box, if I bought that stuff off you for example, I'd add some of those tools to what I have, then sell the rest on.

Stick 'em on ebay with a well written listing and you'll find out what they're worth.
