Afternoon, Trying to remove my brake caliber so I can replace the front disc's. One bolt has started to round. It is 13mm, I have tried to hammer on a 12mm socket with no luck. So what sized imperial socket falls between 13mm and 12mm?
If there is a size I'll try that first, before trying to weld another bolt onto the rounded bolt head. As I have not got great access all the way round to weld.

Get yourself a 6 point socket instead of 12 point they grip better and are less likely to round it off matey, also try a half inch socket as half inch = 12.7 mm

Use Stilson wrenches. I've never known a nut to be non-defeated by mine. These are plumbers ones, you can get more mechanical orientated ones. The harder you turn, the tighter the grip gets.

irwin bolt grippers will have it off
or try a hammer and chisel to bash it anticlockwise , once youve nudged it a quarter turn pliers will undo it

irwin bolt grippers will have it off Another vote for Irwin bolt removers. Screw-Fix do a set for about a tenner I think.

That's them. Must've been twenty quid at Screwfix, it was a while ago. Worth it though! Stilsons are great if you have a lot of room around the bolt head to get them on, and a space to give the handle some decent leverage. Either will get the job done!

id also opt for a decent hex socket & as a last resort a 1/2 inch or if push comes to shove 12mm 12 point & a BF hammer to apply it

a proper hex socket rather than a bi hex socket did it in conjunction with a long bar.

I use an old trick of wrapping a short length of grit paper,60 or 80 grit or whatever comes to hand but coarser the better, around the bolt head and then tapping the socket over it to make a nice tight fit. It also works with mole grips even when the grips on their own just chew up the head.
