This is the E28 I prepped and took to RRG09. I bought it off here for cheap, replaced the overheated 520i 2L M20 engine for a full E34 525i M20 2.5L engine on motronic and it was very quick! I copiously cut the coils, drilled the struts and spring tops/cups to enable the springs to be securely lockwired, so no dislocation. The ride is firm, if a little bouncy. Since I got the car cheap the prices are based on what the car is worth at base prices. £250 is scrap price + the worth of the engine bits.
Fair to say I've had a fair bit of trouble with it at RRG09! As it stands it has a leaking fuel tank and the engine has a suspected cracked cylinder head. As optional extras I have a spare unleaking fuel tank I bought for £40, and also a spare like for like 2.5 M20 engine (which is slightly noisy but should be ok). I also cooked the brakes and the front solid discs are worn, the pads are a mixture of BMW and vauxhall pads. I will supply E34 front vented discs and calipers which will be a massive improvement which is also optional. The car is still running and driving, but will need trailering away.
For £250 it will come on it's original steel wheels, the car will clean up, it's been sitting since August!
For £450 you get the car as in the pictures below with the BBS:
