GR8 4 SNOW CHAOS. I'm selling my Fourtrak as I don't really have any use for it at the moment - it's been sat around for a month or so waiting for me to sort a knackered wheel bearing and I've bought something else in the meantime. The bearing is now done and the Daihatsu is ready to drive away.
It's the earlier incarnation of the Fourtrak with beam axles and leaf springs so probably best viewed as a more refined alternative to a Series III Land Rover rather than a rival to the Shoguns and Troopers. The engine is a Toyota OHC lump with a single carb and pulls the car along well enough. The air filter has had a snorkel fitted at some stage - bit redundant I would have thought on a petrol engine as the distributor would get drowned before the carb, but anyway... The gearbox is good, low range works OK, and generally I think it's in sound mechanical order.
The body is pretty presentable too for a 21-year-old Fourtrak - there's little visible rust and the paintwork is quite good. Underneath is also not bad - it had a fair bit of welding done to the inner arches and body mounting points last year, so these are all solid, and the chassis is good as they usually are on these. It also has a towbar.
Interior is in fairly good nick as well, and all the necessary electrics seem to work OK, although the dip switch is now a separate switch as the column stalk wouldn't engage main beam for some reason. Even the adjustable dampers seem to work.
For an MoT the only obvious things I've seen it'll need are an offside front tyre - the spare is on it at the moment but that's a slightly different size - and the windscreen has a vertical crack on the right hand side - not really in the driver's view of the road but within the wiped area so will probably fail. The windscreens on these are held in by the rubber rather than bonded though, so replacement with a screen from a scrappy is an easy DIY job.
Couple of pics (not very good as taken indoors but they'll give an idea):
