6 months tax mot till feb09 114k 2.0 8v (same as the gti engine) Now has bbs rx2 split rims with 4 good tyres lots of service history (nearly full) interior is generally tidy, though the drivers seat has a worn patch caused by people getting in and out of it. pass side electric window switch can be iffy at times electric roof doesnt work for some reason (the pump motor works) and you can do the roof manually. bodywork is tidy for its age, although there are some stone chips on the bonnet, a mark on the boot which has been painted in with a touch up brush. the driver side door has some laquer peel just below the wing mirror. The pass rear arch has gone crusty, so will need welding to repair (the drivers side cost me £150 to get the welding done, and then I just painted the area myself, as its hidden by the plastic arch covers.) work I have done to the car 1. Replace gay german style plates with std road legal plates 2. Had drivers side rear arch repaired (had rotted under the arch spat) 3. Had rear screen fitted to the hood, as it had not been done when the hood was replaced 4. Front suspension completely replaced 5. Servo hose replaced 6. Airbox replaced (old one had been drilled) how it looks now! bubbles on the bonnet rip on drivers seat mark on drivers door would consider px on anything under 1500cc petrol or anything diesel £1200 ono located in milton under wychwood, oxfordshire

Do you know what would have to be replaced to have the roof working? I'm not massively sure. i had a little look and there is power to the relay control box which controls the pump, but the switch fails to operate it. if you manually make the contacts the motor drives, but doesnt appear to pump the fluid, to open or shut the roof, so i guess the impellor has bust. After that I didnt bother to investigate further. the roof can be operated manually, so it can still be put up or down. the mot is short, but i see no reason why it wont pass. if it doesnt sell at this price, I will re-mot it and re-advertise it. With a full mot on it I will want £1400, as thats what they seem to be up for with full mot on ebay/auto-trader/pistonheads etc.

i havnt got any pics, but basically it will need a repair panel. the inner part isnt too bad, but the outer part is crusty and holed under the arch trim. i've filled the holes with wax oil underseal to stop it getting any worse. with the arch trim fitted you wouldnt even know there is a problem (which is why i listed it, as its not obvious) its a common prob on them as ive already had the other side done, you can even get specific repair panels, got the one for the driver side from here: bap.dominohosting.biz/members/bap/bapdb01.nsf/Plookup2/91-24-507VOLKSWAGENGOLF03-92-10-97!EditDocument&Ret=ALL ive still got an inner arch from the other side that could be used to repair this side with a bit of adaption, if its even needed
