I have three.... ;D
The Davrian Imp saloon is sold, pending collection, and i have a mk5 too.
The Mk7a had Ford BDA power, but that was too expensive so its getting a turbo'd K series.
The mk5 is probably going to have a bike engine of some sort.
All I need now is a job!!

Omg it,s along time since I seen one of these!!A few of them were rallied in Ireland mostly tarmac events in the 80,s and 90,s very fit yokes, could eat tar!! Make a great sound

They are fantastic handling cars. Here's my mk8 (turbo A series) Very nice! Have you had a measure up in the back to see if a k series would fit? My mate is just using an mgf engine and box to convert his Mk7 to transverse. |

I wanted to keep mine with the original engine (type) but the problem is the distance between the suspension mounting points is limited.
Not sure about the K series.
They did fit the Fiesta X-flow engine in transversley but don't knoe if the suspension was changed.

There were some big differences in the Mk7 and Mk8 chassis, so it was probably changed.
IIRC some Mk8's didnt use the Imp rear x member to carry the trailing arms.
Does yours have fabricated suspension or Imp stuff?

It has Davrian fabricated suspension so no Imp crossmember, but I think the pick up points are the same (hence arms are interchangeable)

I think so too - the pickups were more widely spaced IIRC.
Hows yours go with A series power??
My Mk7a is going rear mounted k series turbo, and my mk5 will probably have bike power of some sort.

I'm still mapping the engine at the moment as it has a new cam and cylinder head but performance it not bad - around 150hp
I guess with a 1800 turbo it should be very exiting.
Also it will have a benefit of a 5speed so all around much better.
The good thing about these cars is the traction. You really can use the power
