Hi Guys, I have been pondering this one on and off for years and still no firm decision. Time is now here to get my interior trimmed so a decision has got to be made. Hoping your better judgement and taste can help! This is my car - Finished in silver as you can see. I cannot decide on the interior colour to go for. I was always thinking of a dark red, keeping it quite classic. Common on original Porshe 356's etc. This sort of colour - More recently, I have been thinking about something a bit edgier though. The car is hardly subtle so why not go bold! Thinking of a tan colour, more this sort of thing - This Studio G beauty shows the sort of como with the silver. I am restricted to certain colours because of the leather available so it is one or the other really. Opinions gratefully received for this most un manly of dilemmas.

THAT !!!! .............Gets my vote .Warm, different, kinda classy, yet brash, but less so than Red. Black is very safe, and as mentioned, works with everything. But I would wager a fiver that a tan interior will get more views/photgraphs taken than black. Sorry, just came in from welding the caravan chassis... must be the toxic gasses from the galvanising makes my head work weird. Did I mention TAN ??

I'm with Grizz,
Tan works wonders, looks really tidy in that nice orangey tan colour - go for it!
But get swatches first and put against the paint, then take another photo and let us have a look!
Car looks lovely, what's underneath it?

I instantly thought dark red/oxblood for the car but then after seeing the tan I'm undecided now. I do like the idea of Audi's 'baseball' stitch leather though, especially on an oxblood leather instead of tan. Maybe a touch too modern for this style of ( beautiful!) car?...

Thanks Guys. The car is a bit of a hybrid, no not in that way, just parts from all over the shop. It's a monocoque so well light. Rear axle and LSD is from an E30 BMW, Type 9 Box and a 1.9 K series from an Exige. Jenvey throttle bodies and Emerald ECU. 5 years in the making, nealy bankrupted me because I have had to pay for someone else to do it because I have no space or skills....just lots of imagination. The seats are from an Elise. I am getting the seats, door cards and transmission tunnel trimmed in leather. Much of the interior will be left bare, painted silver. The centre panel of the seat and the transmission tunnel will be trimmed with diamond stitch too, in a pale colour. This sort of pattern I guess - Or -

DEFINITELY the red.
Red is for light colours, and tan is for dark colours. Think tan for BRG, black, navy, dark red etc. Red in white, cream, silver, etc cars. Its just achieving balance, and red is where the balance is.
If you can add stitching and highlighted sections of leather in silver as well, that would UBER-rock.

Its tan for me - I am hoping to build a car someday that is black or silver on the outside and tan inside. Perfect combo for me - as Grizz says, more unusual than the red and classy as anything.

Porsche 924 - gone Citroen Saxo VTR - not very retro but I loved it - now gone... MK4 Golf GTi 1.8T - gone but hardly remembered... Mini Cooper S R53 - gone BMW 125d Coupe - gone (mostly sideways)
Ford Focus RS Mk1 - hello low MPGs and "wanna race me" at every set of lights... 1973 BMW 2002 - Twin 40's, 284 Cam, Revolutions, E21 Recaros + more Porsche Cayman 987 3.4S - here and due to cost me more money than I have

It's dark red interior for me in that car. Normally I wouldn't touch a red interior but the dark red oxblood you got in e28's would look great in this car.

It's a stunning motor, I think whichever you go for - it'll still be incredibly good looking, The red is nice, but I'm still preferring the Tan, although SurprisingSkoda makes a point re the colours.

Without the pics you posted I'd normally have said dark red / oxblood to go with the silver. However... This style... In this colour... would look the mutts... would have to be that almost orange tan for me if it were my car.

I'd go for the dark red in the style of the Spyker. Have a look at the red colours used on fifties BMC stuff. It's got a slightly brownish tone to it and that would look 'period' and contemporary at the same time, if that makes sense!
