Ok, I don´t mean that it´s MY graveyard ofcourse, but this is what I found
I realise this probably should go in the abandoned thread, but I took so many pictures I think it deserves a thread of it own...
So, a couple of years ago I noticed an old buldozer at a field on the side of a dirt road a long way from any houses. I did not stop at the time, but have been thinking about that thing from time to time. Last Sunday I finally took a camera with me and went back to look at it properly and to take some pictures. (I like taking pictures of old metal for some reason..) I drove up to the place and walked over to the old buldozer.
Notice the nice roof on it by the way That roof made me start looking around and soon I became aware of something else in the woods by the buldozer.
Clearly this place has been used to dump old stuff for quite some time...
I started looking around nearby the dozer and spotted this
and some of these
When I saw this my heart started pumping, because surely the previous owners or at least parts of them must be nearby?
Under some steel plates I found a lot of starters and dynamoes
Then I saw this...
I then started searching around in the woods nearby, and I finally saw this in the distance
Closer
And closer
The fence was not exactly new, so I had no trouble walking inside. Next to the old truck I found this. i think it´s an old Skoda?
As you can tell by that picture I saw some more cars in the background. A Volvo Amazon at the back there
This stood next to the old truck
I climbed ontop of the car and spotted this.
You can make out a Volvo PV
And behind that is an old Bedford I think?
By now it was starting to get really interesting I understood that there was a LOT of car and trucks here as well as some heavy machinery.
This is what`s left of an old Opel Olympia
Volga
A funny looking steering wheel
A truck cab with some old, cool sign writing
Some old trucks
You can make out the the rows of cars and trucks
I don`t know what this is. Ford maybe?
A couple of old VWs
Some more trucks
I think this is a Mercedes. The crane-thingy was several pieces of steel beams welded togehter.
It seems that the ones that was not deamed good enough was chopped up and just tossed in piles...
Notice that the windows are down or broken in many front doors of the cars and that they have a similar dent/mark in the roof/door. Probably from being lifted with something. The huge crane you can make out in one of the pictures above probably?
Skoda
Poor litle thing...
Surely this is not what I think it is?
I´m sorry to say that this is exactly what I was afraid it was.. A split window beetle...
Of course, the day it was dumped here, it did not have any value, but now.. Wish this was parked in an old barn instead..
I have never seen one of these before
Factory sun roof Turns out it is some sort of an old Peugeot!
"I´m just gonna put them over here. Get to them later some day.."
Couple of Alis Chalmers fork lifts. There was atleast 7 or 8 of them
That´ll buff out...
Hmm... Where did I store those wheels...
Renault 10 and Ford Taunus Estate
So this is where Wallace and Gromit crash-landed ;D
Many of the cars are standing on rough gravel, but some are standing on swamp land so they obviously put down old truck beds so that they would not sink ;D
Ford Transit, Saab 96? and another Ford behind.
An old cement truck with a sign writed door that actually has my wifes last name on it ;D
Saab 96? and a MKII Escort
Thames Freighter 800. Have never seen one of these before either..
Opel Kapitän ca 1950-51
Pipes? Check! - Bikes? Check!
VW Squareback and Volvo Amazon Estate (or Herregårdsvogn in norwegian and swedish)
Renault 12 that actually looked reasonably ok
The sticker reads: "Without the car Norway stops"
"Wear a helmet in this area"
An old bench to test and charge batteries
That steel plate will keep that engine like new!
Two old trucks from Holland aparently?
VW Bay
Renault? (3 wheel bolts)
A norwegian built excavator called Brøyt. Some farms still have one of these today They have to drag themselves forvard because they do not have any propulsion on the wheels
Sunbeam Van. Have not seen one of these before either
Poor split window..
By now I had been there for about 2.5 hours and it was getting dark, but I could not go yet. Just a few more pictures.. You now how it goes...
Tow truck
Is this some sort of a Mercedes? It has a lot of wood in the framework
Clearly they have been here a while..
Datsun?
An old Fargo truck
Lada
Renault 16 on top of a VW Squareback
Another split bus
Some sort of french pick up
And finally for now a picture I was very pleased with. I think it´s rather beautiful... Old metal is not ugly at all
Believe it or not, but you have not seen half of whats standing there... I will be going back soon to take more pictures and will post them here. Hope you had a good time so far!
