Glad you boys got home safe and sound...that's the important thing. Sounds like tea and the open fire in the cottage was a heady mix that was really appreciated. Dropped Bruce's trailer to him this morning before work and he's got another trek in the name of retro cars to make today. I personally think he's been converted to run solely on activity and retro talk ;D
See you on the weekend big man, now get some kip.

i sympathise having been through a similar experience a couple of weeks back!!! Was on my way home from the annual AXOC meet in Wrexham when the car died on the M40 60 miles from home. Difference being the RAC man was an absolute LEGEND. He towed us to the services to start with, then stripped and rebuilt the carb. The it died again so he went all the way to wembley to pick up an Ignition Module fitted that then we drove around the services and it died again so he fitted a new rotor arm and cleaned the dizzy cap. Then we got onto the M40 and it died a third time. I opened the bonnet and found his phone undamaged in the inner wing  He then rang me and the conversation went as follows: RAC man: Tim, Tim, don't go too far I've left my phone under your bonnet! Me: Yes i have it! RAC man: erm how? Me: well we broke down again and i lifted the bonnet and found it! RAC man: sighs I'll come and find you! ended up towing us home having been trying to fix our car for the best part of 4 hours!! Was very complimentary about the car and its condition, happily chatted about retro cars and was an all round LEGEND!! Journey sucked though, Wrexham to M40 jct2 took 4 hrs. Jct 2 M40 to Home took a further 6 or so hours!!! My mate and Bernard the RAC Legend

Sounds like it sucked I'll give you a tale of fail... RRG'09 with my E28 AA Man #1: No brake pads, filed a set of vauxhall pads to fit, legend - had a cobra kit car. AA Man #2: Cracked cylinder head and exhaust ripped off, fixed exhaust and did extensive testing on the engine, again lots of help. AA Man #3: Low loader home, I expected there to be issues with it being so low but he loved the car! AA Man #4: Low loadered me home locally after being dropped, again no problems with lowness, though getting it off the ramp was interesting...
