Yeah thats my fault... I keep flip flopping what I'm doing with the main site... I have a clear action plan now and most of the software in place to do it... I just need some time to get it all finished... 2009 has been basically a terrible year for me in many regards so a lot of RR stuff got put to the side.
With the annual awards coming up I'm hoping people will notice not just the obvious people that deserve nomination but also those members who have quietly been going about being awesome, I think Tonybmw is certainly one of them.

Not decided by me.
I've got more important things to deal with than the front page of the site,.. most people come straight into the forum.
Once again another post from you that is another pop at me... it must take a lot of energy to be this angry for so long at someone that doesn't care if you exist or not.

I also notice the front page is way out of date I'd stay off jonny69.co.uk if I were you then, I haven't updated it in over a year.

A brief summary of MOTM:
RMad sees something that's cool and makes a banner - the banner will say whatever month it is when I saw it (the situation hasn't arisen for there to be two in the same month). The 'winner' displays it in their signature if they want to. That's it.
It's all pretty random really and HoTWire has nothing to do with it. There isn't a published criteria.
As for nominating people for MOTM. I'm not planning that as an option, sorry. As you probably know, we have The RR Awards every year, so that's the opportunity for you guys to nominate and choose.
Basically, if you see an MOTM banner you know there's been a cool car involved. No further discussion is required!

Thanks for the info rmad. And thanks also to Autofive for attempting to hijack this thread to have a dig... I think all members should realise (most do I am sure) that running and maintaining a vastly popular site such as this is not easy.

If we are doing this retrospectively could I nominate Belair Lugosi for his thread on the 59 zephyr/zody and the fact he put together a great show in Whitby last month or is this just highjacking a current thread ?

You can nominate him for that in the annual awards when nominations open for that. There is usually a "thread of the year" and "member of the year" and "event of the year" category in which you could nominate him for any or all of them at your discretion.

That's the sort of hijacking that no-ones going to object to - but as has been said above let's all wait and cast our votes at the appropriate time

yeah the award nominations are a more appropriate place for on going positive input into the forums. The MOTM thing is just a bit of fun for people that have built something cool. Even better if they turn up out of the blue with it

It takes a bit of effort to nominate people for the RR awards. I'm talking about memory here and noticing all the great input and projects, Its a real treat the RR awards, and for ultimate diversity and choice depends on members getting their thinking caps on, for once this year I'm relying on you guys to give me some radio buttons to choose, cos like Hotwire, a year can really be a whirlwind and fly by. It really does take a lot of effort, motivation, and time to run these things.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
