Just recently got myself a cheap wreck to play with. An E30 316i Baur convertible, will post piccies when I get the chance to take some. So despite it looking like a total shed I've become obsessed with the naff small wheels and ridiculous ride height (of course ;D ) I think I'm some way to working out what to do with the ride height. So have turned my attention to some (not) new round things and I really like the idea of something like these they're 17" MINI wheels, the pcd is good, offset is dodgy so will need 20-25mm spacers and the centrebore is too small, but I think I can get a set at a very reasonable price. So the question is, where can I get hubcentric/wheel centric spacers made that will have a 57.1 centrebore at one end and 56.2 at the other and as I assume these won't be available off the shelf and how much do you reckon they will they cost? Or is the price of the spacers going to outweigh any deal I can get on the wheels and I should just look at more standard wheel choices?

Must be a million styles of wheels for a bimmer, cant see why you'd want to muck about with adapters. for instance

There are loads, but they tend to be mega expensive and nice or horrid and cheap, hence was wondering about the cost of spacers/adapters as I should be able to get a set of those very cheaply.

I have noticed the price of pretty BMW wheels as it happens as 5 stud ones have almost the same stud pattern as me jag and I was thinkin about tryin to squeeze some on, must be to many owners with more money than sense I reckon, some of the prices second hand wheels are up for!

If you are set on the MINI wheels, why not get the centres milled out to fit regular VW hubcentric spacers? Or 2 minutes with the dremel might even do it, there's no need to get custom spacers or anything fancy. The offset on those MINI wheels might not be that far off anyway.

You would have to buy 57.1 hubcentric spacers and have them machined down to 56.1 on the outside. By the time youve bought some spacers, paid for the machining, and paid for your wheels you could have had a nice set of wheels that fit. Unless you really want those wheels that is

Just open the centre bore out with a 80 grit flapwheel on a drill, i've done it a few times with no problems so far, just go steady and keep checking against the hub.

the offset will be miles out and at best look curse word and at worst n0t clear the brakes or something.
The mini ones are well over 40iirc and BMW are 10-24 ish, so as you say, 20-25mm out, the wrong way.
Do a little drawing of what you have described, go to a couple of machine shops and see what they reckon it'll cost in turning up some aluminium spacers. Then you'll know whether they're worth it or not - worth a try i reckon. remember to cost some uber long wheel bolts too, can get them off the bay.

mini centre bore is 56.1 easy to dremel or flapwheel them out! its only a mm afterall. i would use a marker pen to go round the bore, so it gives you an idea of how much material you have removed and where you need to remove more from. the wheel bolt holes will be tapered, so hub-centric spacers arent 100% needed, so long as you do your wheels up correctly they will centre using the wheel lugs. ive run pleanty of wheels like this and have never encountered any problems with wheel balancing/steering shake etc. If there was that much weight on the centre bore i wouldnt expect spigot rings to be made of plastic, they are purely there to aid people incapable of bolting wheels on IMO. i think the wheels could work nicely, especially with a bit of tuck and some healthy lowering
