Just been sent this short vid of my MGB on the trackday last Saturday and you can see the 'death' smoke (as my mate calls it) appearing on gear change after the first corner
For those that didn't read my other thread, engine decided to turn into a smoke machine on the way home
that vid was on the last session when we noticed it so gave it an easy time on the straights.

how spanking it were you ? if it was on the overrun then turned into all the way home sounds like a strip to deal with what car was the vid from?

Could be an oil surge problem from the long corners
Did you see the oil light on at all?

No Oil light in the MGB, unless he has had one fitted. How many miles had that motor done

Yeah no oil light in the mg, it had done 46k since the last major rebuild. It wasn't really being pushed that hard to be honest as it was quite wet, it was an e30 bmw that did that footage and he was having trouble with grip!

Doh! I should have known that.
I don't suppose you have time to look at the oil pressure gauge when your pressing on
It still sounds like an oil starvation problem to me though

Well it needs to be an lt77 box, they were in sd1's and later heavy duty vehicles like sherpa's etc so thats an option but still not many about. Landrovers have them aswell but the box is more bulky which means modding the tunnel more.

I'm getting pretty excited about fitting it ;D (sad i know lol)
I'm just looking forward the moment of starting it for the first time.....
Just picked up an alternator off ebay for £20
so i'm slowly gathering all the bits i need.
I'll start thread once i get stuck into the conversion and keep it updated with piccie's.

The type 9 does not need any Modds to the tunnel. I would of thought it could take the power, on the down side it will probably cost you more to get one. thats what my next mod will be anyhow,
