My friend has just been cut up in his mustang on a roundabout by a kindly woman in a clk merc.. any hoo up shot of this is his car now has 2 crumpled wheels and its stuck in the work carpark with 2 flat tyres.. he has an old ford probe which he could steal some wheels from (his previous car) which I think has the same stud pattern (5x114.3) which would allow him to get it home - can any one confirm the stud pattern of the mustang so he can limp it home and have some thing to roll it around the drive until he can sort the wheel situation (its a 1995 4l v6) a nice stang in thanks for any info-

I had a the wheels of a 70's Ford Fairmont on an 80's Granny and i've also had merc wheels on the same Granny I'm not sure the probe has the same stud pattern though, i thought it was a mazda pattern?
i could be wrong, the 4 stud econo mustangs were the same as the 4 stud uk fords so i'd be very suprised if a 5 stud one from the same era wouldnt take granny or merc wheels just to get you home.

I presume its an SN95 series Mustang? They are all 5 stud. Its the same pattern as the Probe. offset may be wrong and the wheels may foul the calipers or something. Try them and see.

nissan 200sx wheels. Standard factory alloys, correct size and RWD spacing etc. so should be all good. Easy to find as most 200sx owners put different wheels on.

the stud pattern will be the same 5x114'3 (5x4.5") both fit no probs though J rwd offset and US rwd offset may be entirely different things as said try it and see . I'll be interested if they do fit as I'm going to be after some curse word 5x114's to put on my cortina estate while its in the workshop over the winter and probe/mazda wheels seem pretty easy to get hold of

Get your mate to register on the Mustang owners club forum.. They really are a top bunch on there and i reckon if you ask really nicely someone will be able to help you mate out with some slave wheels or maybe someone might have 2 of that style he could buy.. www.mocgb.net/forums/index.phpEven if not it's a damn good resourse fr any mustang owner..

Merc wheels are 5 x 112 (as are Granada, I thought???) I would never advise fitting them onto a 5 x 114.3 hub as not only will the wheel not seat properly, the nuts will be pulling on the thread and tensile strength of the studs (or in the case of wheel bolt type studs they will be pulling against the threads in the hub). I have experienced the joys of this first hand after buying a passat from - A VW "specialist" of all people . I had to retap the hubs and use new bolts when I fitted the correct PCD wheels. You'd have thought he'd known as you could hear the impact gun straining to tighten and loosen the studs.

My '71 Mach 1 Mustang (5 stud) would take Granny wheels on the rear (drum) but they wouldn't clear the calipers up front. My wifes 78 Mustang 2 (4 stud) would take cortina rims all round. Probably not much help but as we were on the subject............
