Ok, not the usual 'what R my tyres meant to be blown up2?'. I know that I have fitted 15" wheels on the back of my 'bus with massive tractor style 235/75R15 tyres. What pressure should I be looking at running them at? I would imagine less than factory pressures as they have a much bigger footprint but I'm open to suggestions When I put the tyres on, I popped the bead on and shoved some air in, put them on the van then blew them up. One looked fine, but had 13PSI in. So I'm thinking a lot lower than factory.. Cheers, Rich

tractor style? for off road use? if you drop below about 12-15psi you risk the tyre becoming unseated from the rim, for soft ground drop 5 or10psi from the tyres first, if your still sinking then drop a bit more, but its best not to drop more than 50%

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

No not for offroad, just because buying 15" steels and using these tires was cheaper than 2 new van tires. They are not really that aggresivly treaded. were not much use on my SJ anyway.. (too big I think )

Even though they're 235s, I still wouldn't want to be running less than 25psi on the back of a VW van for road use. How is the bus normally loaded? Is it a heavy camper conversion, ferrying the whole football team, tradesman's tools or just an empty van? I'd say experiment and see what works best, but keep them somewhere between 25-40psi for road use, preferably towards the lower end of the scale.

20 seems a bit low to me, i don't know VW vans specifically but unless they have some odd handling quirks i wouldn't run a car on less than 25 let alone a van, to much flex will just build up lots of heat, use up more petrol wear the edges of teh tyres out and not help cornering at all.

Inflate to standard pressure as a good starting point. (unless the vehicle weight has changed?)

ok. Vehicles is a 5 seat minibus so like a limo. Only has back seats, a sub, a box with oil and water in and me and the missus up front. Standard pressure is 3.7BAR but I think thats for a half loaded panel van. Got them at about 3.2 at the moment and they look and feel (from the ride) a bit hard. Might drop a little more and keep trying til it feels right and looks right
