Additional Information:
Due to my daily (Scirocco) being stolen/torched, I need funds/garage space for the replacement daily drive. I'd really like to keep the MR2, but there's no way I'm keeping another car on the street.
Mechanically it's pretty good. The only fault I can find with it is that 3rd gear is a bit crunchy. It shifts up to 3rd fine, but has a bit of a crunch if you shift down to it. It's never bothered me, I just use 4th or shift down to 2nd then up to 3rd. Other than that, it's good mechanically.
Appearances wise, it's a bit tatty. It has a few scrapes. All but one have been painted (badly). I think there is 2 small patches about the size of a 50p where it's been painted to prevent rust. There is also a scrape on the front passenger side wheel arch where I scraped it on my garage wall. I haven't tried to repaint it, but it hasn'treally started to rust. I don't think there are any dents on the car at all.
It has the lovely leaking roof issues that a lot of T Bars have. It lets drips in through the gap between the window and the roof. I've heard it's an easy fix, but seeing as this was only my good weather car I didn't feel the need.
I recently took it on a bit of a roadtrip (10 hours driving over a weekend) and it didn't miss a beat. Somewhere on the trip, one of the dashboard lights gave up the ghost so the fuel guage and some of the speedo (below 40mph) doesn't light up.
I think it's a very early Rev3, which was the most powerful of the 5 revisions (173hp IIRC). It's not a turbo though.
So to summarise: It's fine and dandy mechanically, just a bit rough round the edges.
The MOT runs out at the end of the month, but I will put a fresh ticket on it.
