Over the winter I'm updating my mk2 Cortina and removing the 2.0 and 4 speed from it.
The engine has been in there since about 1997 , bottom end was fully rebuilt about 4 years ago and has since done maybe 5000 miles. It was rebored +90 with AE pistons crank was all reground with new bearings, oil pump etc. Cylinder head is big valve which I bought from a local engineer who had originally built it for a race engine , had been returned for a freshen up a few years later but then a change of regs left it surplus to requirements. Cam is a FR33 with a vernier pulley. Carbs are dellorto 45's . Distributor is from Aldon which they built for the engine spec.
I have never had it properly set up with the 45's but do have a power run from when it was first put together with the carbs which was 118 at the wheels, a proper tune will improve this.
Rocker cover is apparantly quite special I have been told and maybe from America.
I have used the car regular and the engine is well behaved and ticks over quite smooth for the spec .
Price is just a guide as I am not sure what its really worth. £800
The sump and exhaust manifold are not part of the deal as another mk2 owner wants them.

Also a straight cut 4 speed box , ratio's are lovely with this engine. Comes with a rose jointed shifter. £450 GEARBOX SOLD
