Listing for a mate, PM me for his phone number if interested. He lives down in cornwall, but is up bristol way often enough.
VW mk1 Caddy pickup, 1986 D.
11months MOT
5 months Tax
1.6 petrol, good strong engine surprisingly nippy too.
GTI 5spd box
91k, FSH. Serviced 09/09.
Red, but very bleached now.
Very good 14" Scirocco alloys.
GTI 239mm brakes.
Nice sounding SS backbox, very quiet and civilised though.
Had a fair bit of work at MOT end of August, so is pretty damn solid underneath now. Did the couple of advisories too.
Not so good:
Tailgate is missing, has a very cool net though.
Bed has been replaced with sheet.
No stereo
Reverse lights only work intermittantly.
Ignition barrel (new one I fitted for MOT) needs key to be wiggled to correct position.
Some crusty patches, and red oxide.
This is an excellent caddy as a uber cool daily driver, or could also be a great base for a project. Since I got it T T'ed last month ive done 1200 miles with no issues, other than a few lose connections and split washer hose that Ive sorted.
It has loads of patina, and has not been ratted deliberately. No iron crosses or matt black in sight!
The cab needs tidying up as its very grubby, but this is only cosmetics.
If your looking for a super reliable, practical (for two people!), cheap to run and maintain early dub with loads of character, and can take loads of attention then this is the car for you! Seriously, ive had people asking if I would sell it at traffic lights, people taking pictures in car parks etc.
As a rough guide, my insurance on this was cheaper than it had been on my B3 Passat Estate.
I also have brand new front coilovers for this (cut springs at moment) that I could also add into a deal (for sale on ebay now though). Ive swapped the debadged grille with spoiler (urgh) for the badged one now, but I could chuck the debadged one in.
I also have a set of 17" MONO 5-spoke alloys, with good 205/40/17 rubber that I could add for £75. Believe it or not thats what this was running when I bought it from my bro's mate.
We are also planning on going travelling next year so will be needing a T4 or similar.
I will be listing this on weebay soon, thought I would check on here and a few other forums first before I try the ebay time-waster lottery...
Please call or pm me for more details, I'm having an operation this week so not got time to write a detailed description or pics right now but happy to talk.
I know right now I'm living at the end of the country, but I do still come up to Bristol regularly so can try to arrange something if anyone is interested.
I'll listen to any sensible offers, or would be happy to consider PX either way for a decent van, preferably VW/Mercedes flavoured.
