Mums proton 1.3 GL overheated today, the fans a bit dodgy so it could have been that, ive put the fan back on properly but Ive noticed that it idles very high indeed, the auto choke doesnt seem to turn off, when I blip the throttle the idle stays high and drops slowly. Its a mad little carb absolutely covered in vacuum pipes but they are all connected and non are split
There is a part on the side of it that looks like a mini master cylinder that seems to have a diaphragm, I guess this is part of the auto choke mechanism (?) but it doesnt move at all unless I pull on it up and down and then the revs drop but only temporarily.
Also when I shut the engine off the carb goes 'tap tap' .... I'm a tad confused, reckon it would cause it to overheat if the auto choke is sticking on?
Could it be some sort of diaphragm split cuasing a wierd vacuum in the carb?
