I'm going to get someone to weld my ca18det capri exhuast system up using the performance system I had on it originally. I can't make my mind up wether or not to use the middle box and the cherry bomb, or just the cherry bomb? I know the diameter isn't a nice fruity 3" system or anything but the tax is up this month yadder yadder... Anyway, what do you think would sound better? Id hate to get it done then wonder if it'd sound better with/without the middle box. Opinions?

I have no idea what it'll sound like through my exhuast. I use to have a 32/36dgav with a k&n on my 2.1 pinto and with the middle box and cherry bomb it sounded good - not that loud thouhg. I don't want it to be stupidly loud when pootling about but 'appropriately' loud when flooring it! Obviously now with forced induction its gona make a totally new sound. I might go mad and just use the cherry bomb unless people think it'll be far too loud for day to day driving?

i run my old pinto system on mine its 2 1/4 with a backbox a bit bigger than a cherrybomb and it does sound well if a little on the loud side. id probably go with a centrebox too its better off being too quiet than loud tbh. it will be as loud or maybe a little louder than the pinto was but the note will be softer not as harsh or raspy as it is muffled by the turbo if you get me.

I had straight through to the stock back box on my last 5 litre merc. on tick over, round town and motorway cruising it was no different to the full system. however, under hard acceleration and at full chat it sounded like a heinkel bomber. ;D edit - have some shonky pics.

Cheers nizzer, I was wondering what system you had on yours, maybe centrebox too then. Technically easier to hook up as well. Your right about to quiet than too noisy roo, as long as the sound is nice

Yep they do sound nice they give out a real roar on boost if you can hear it over the turbo hiss and chatter
