No, not a vinyl wrap, a bonnet wrap. Sold an escy bonnet on the bay and as the guy's in Ireland he wants me to wrap it for the courier he's arranging to collect it.
Never had to wrap anything that big before - thinking rolled up bubble wrap on each corner covered in cardboard.
Anyone got any other ideas - don't want to spend a fortune on packaging (yup, cheapskate! ;D).

Get some pipe lagging from B&Q, the grey stuff that comes in meter lengths and clip it on the edges then cover the lot with a big box that you might get out the bins at B&Q or somewhere that sells fridge freezers.

As above, try your local bike shop for big but flat boxes - ideal for panels. Better still find a Trek dealer and ask if they have a spare box from a Madone road bike, the card is much thicker and they are generally huge.

I'd be quite tight in this situation.. It's your profit margin, afterall. Raid shop skips and suchlike for cardboard. Wrap all the edges whatever soft stuff you have lying about/can blag, covered in cardboard, and get the sturdiest stuff you can find and wrap it around the whole lot.
Or just put a label on it and see what happens ;D

That would be very very bad. I had someone send me a printer(!) off eBay like that in the mail, and the guy acted all surprised when it arrived at my house in about six pieces
Best bet's as people have said- raid the polystyrene from white goods- hardware/home improvement places are good for it- when I worked at B&Q all the really tough cardboard was for the pottery stuff for the garden centre, and it all just ends in the skip- have a few words with the manager and usually they're happy for you to lift wads of the stuff out of the skip under supervision. Our manager used to call the police on people rummaging through our skip without permission.

I get a lot of free bubble wrap from the supermarkets! They use is to package apples and the like - they are always happy for you to re-use it as well, just pick up a couple of carriers on the way in and fill 'em up!
