Well I've put this in for paint Will be done in a month or so in a lovely pearlesent Royal Blue - very eye catching. General style will be like this, so no bumpers and light covers back on Problem is it's going to need some very nice wheels to finish it off properly so what to fit? Wires are a pain to get on due to it using XJ6 hubs, so can only use bolt on wires and I hate the large centre - like so So Dunlop replicas are a choice, but fancy something different Interestingly BMW e39 wheels will basically fit as PCD is only 0.6mm out, so I've found these which I think might work Also like this style but can't find anything but Merc fitment So I need your thoughts, ideas and lots of photos! PCD is 5x120.6 and 74.1mm centre bore - so e39 wheels go on thanks to same centre bore. Looking for 15 to 17inch wheels about 7 or 8 inches wide Thank you please ;D

If you are using Jag hubs, why not get some Halibrand style alloys? I'm sure there will be some on a kit car forum (cobra forum perhaps? some of those use Jag hubs).

No question for me - got to be some of these baby's: Centerline FTW! Or the Halibrand wheels as mentioned by Mike are also pretty sweet. Commonly found on the Cobra kit cars and the Dax Rush - which is the perfect era/type of car you're creating. What happened to doing it like that concept E-type Speedster you showed before?

Cheers for the ideas so far guys. Dish is a must I thought as well, and I'd totally forgot to list the Halibrands as well since they are an obvious choice, so are these (as used on GT40's) But well I just can't picture any of them being perfect in my head, if you know what I mean. As for the gorgeous Speedster E-type 2 things got in its way 1) the cost, getting those wheels would approach £3000! and the screen also needs custom making and then I'd never be able to use the hard top without more mods etc etc etc 2) the time, to be honest I have 4 cars, and well I just want to have this one done to a point where I can use it and polish it and look at it whilst sat on a country bench thinking "God thats a good looking car" Plus my painter had an empty few weeks so could slot it in at a good rate and do all the work. Thats all the shut lines, completely remake the front of the bonnet to take the light covers, fill all the holes from bumpers etc prep it all and paint it - all that would take me a couple of months of weekends and evenings and I'd do nowhere near as good job. Basically it drives so nice as it is I'm scared I'll start modding one bit a lot and then the rest a lot and it'll never be as nice to cruise about in, which is why I bought it! So I'm being sensible, so that I'll have the winter to be unsensible with the Superminx (and the Escort, obviously!) Keep the ideas coming please

Norm Obviously that would be the ideal solution, but the hubs and cost getting the wheels made would add upto enough to pretty much buy the car again and I just can't justify that Love the wheels on vintage wheels, and with those adaptors I can have the coolness of knock offs too ;D Will ask for a shipped to UK quote

Oooo I like that! Though not sure black centres will work with the colour I've chosen, or a more classic look when using std light covers....5 spokes might be an option though?
