20B rotary in some derivative of a Caterham 7 or a Locost! Can't decide whether turbo or N/A would be good, but probably more suited to the style of car to make it N/A through triple Webers.
I'd also love to build a miniature hot-rod based around an Austin 7 or similar body, with a modern 4 cylinder in it, probably turbocharged. With a 300kW+ SR20DET it should be capable of hosing down full-sized hot rods with proper V8s!
Oh, and on a less ambitious/insane note, a sleeper-style S13 Silvia with an RB26DETT

Loving these ideas guys, espeshily love idea of taking something that would normaly be overlooked and making it into something insane I always wanted to dump a mk5 escort van over a Cosworth 4x4 floor pan, that was back in my school days though lol. Would love to build a Maxi kitted Pug 205 with evo engine and drive train oh and a 205T16 Replica.

Couple of madish plans are. 1) Take something like a reliant or herald or even taxi chassis. Build a simple open topped wooden bodied coffin shaped body on it. Minimum equipment needed for a fun car. Bit like a wood bodied mayday. 2) Strip the rear interior including bearer seats out of an old hearse. Preferably a 5 door, so probably a volvo as they tend to be 5 door more often than other uk hearses, then build in 5-7 coach seats with lapbelts and retrim in suede type fabric and build in a AV system, mini fridge and drinks rack, sort out mega deep carpets, tinted windows with glass etch type stickers between the glass and the tint, and velvet curtains dividing the driver from the guests, and to cover the windows at night.

A mini with a snowmobile engine.
I heard that there was a prototype 2 stroke Mini.
Snow mobiles seem to be CVT autos. So it would be good if it went into an auto Mini. Think there around 800cc too. So keep the 850 badges. Might be a problem with reverse though. And I don't think there would be many second hand snowmobiles in UK

further to my luxobarge pick up idea, a hearse might be a good base for it but another one of my stupid pipe dreams is to take a formula 1 stock car and put it on the road or one of those scaled down 50s looking track cars like in the dave tv ad (the mush that used to be my brain refuses to remember what they are called) ttfn glenn the mist has cleared for a few seconds and they are called legends

Amongst a long list of madness, I always quite fancied one of these: Stripped out, big roll cage, bin the roof and fit Rallye/GTi6 running gear. Maybe chop the screen down too, would be a little bit mad.

couple of ideas that have been crossing my mind for ages but will probably never happen
Golf 2, steels, primer, roof chop. oh and a rover V8 RWD conversion.
a mini using 4wd (poss swift or Alto works) and a G13B lump. Stripped, caged, dished and turbo'd.
A mate of mine keeps talking about mid mounting his a4 TDi lump in a mk1 golf....

Cortina Saxon - ConsulCapri style coupe. would have to be a bit more Cortina based than the prototype. Proper mk3 Cortina convertible without super-structure. Honda S360 replica short-tailed S600 prototype. The way a Prelude should have looked ? 1st gen Accord hatch with 2l DOHC. & as above post but based on Honda Z360 -'70's stripes, frt bib/ducktail rear spoiler, 13" alloys, but hope to avoid flares

Does this count? based on an old joke about the Allegro being more aerodynamic going backwards! back end of saloon married to back end of estate - I like to call it 'Allegroovy' and would dearly love to build it! Or I'd like to seriously chop a Saab . . . my brother is keen to tackle it, but not for free! He charged quite a bit to do this . . .

I'd be interested to see HIS version - that one above is ALL my OWN work!!! Not that I should be particularly proud of it - it's very rough!

Would love to build a prewar racer, completely flat ladder chassis, axle's held on with leaf springs, 18 or 20" spooked wheels (skinny of course) grill, bonnet (no sides) fly screen and a boat tail style body, and most importantly twin kawa z900's up front. Picture it, mondeo man is in the middle lane, thunderous noise (gotta love aircooled bike engine's) big ass wheel appears in his peripheral vision, then eight open straight pipes, I snap down two gear (sequential gearbox) and floor it. it's all matt black and road grime too, maybe I could find a 1910 log book too, it'd be so damn old the reg would be new (10 C ***)
