Well, I was a Revs reader and Nova lover in the mid-to-late 90's so I love all of them. Oh, except the Stealth - too soft for me that one and just didn't work on Fast Car's 'Project Stealth' 205 IMHO. When hunting for my Mk2 Gti back in the early Noughties, a D-plate 8v in black and slammed on 17" Venoms reappeared for sale. I was sorely tempted even at that late stage for the Venom - it had just looked so good to me back in the day! It was also about double what I ended up paying . . . ! Google-fu's escaped me but how about League? About '97/'98 an F-plate Nova GTE in red appeared on the front cover of Revs. Twas the 1st Nova on 17's IIRC and just looked so good to me. I was at Uni in Leicester at the time - creamed my pants when I saw it parked up there - must have been like being in Liverpool in the '60s . . . ! EDIT - forgot to mention the Evo. That was the only wheel for a Saff Cossie as far as I was concerned back in the day. Absoultely loved it. The later Evo-R was wibblepoo though.

I prefer the Borbet to the Azev as its a sharper line to it. I like wheels with a sharp "edge" to them. And I like billet. In the right place, on the right car.

At the end of 2007 I needed a car quickly as the only thing I had on the road was my Bedford CF. I ended up buying an extremely cheap and slightly "barry" Renault Chamade 16V which came resplendent with Venoms and an EVO vent bodged into the bonnet! Did the bonnet matt black and I think it looked half respectable, for what it was. Car was a wreck mechanically though so I sold it for £50 more than I paid for it and bought my Mk1 Golf with the change (£250!)

I wonder what happened to all those max power/fastcar/revs all that curse word, project cars? There was a thread on PassionFord about this I think, from what I recall most either got broke, written off or stolen. From what I saw that were all a bit Fast & Furious, as in they tended to consist of modifications that were fitted because they were sponsored.

Nice! Used to like Rev's as had mostly affordable cars. Max Power was a bit too much "I sent the car to XS Boost and they did the engine, Bobs Plastic Emporium did the bodykit, cost £1000s and all I did was pick the garish colour for the respray"

Don't like any of the Fox/TSW brigade. I think just about any wheel design could be salvaged with enough dish though ?

apart from the borbet A you mean surely ! Nope, Azev A's rule although Kerscher Carmonas would be a very close 2nd.

TSW Venoms? Hmm, they need to spend a few more years in wheel purgatory before i can look at them with a straight face. But it wil happen. Even slot mags got a second chance.

it is impressive thred resurection.
Funny thing is a lot of the pics in this thread look like they are from the 90s but both of the golfs are wearing the TSWs TODAY and will be attending E38 like it and i have some matching green hella rears to go on the Oaky to match the Blue one...
was even thinking of painting the Hockenhiems bright blue.... maybe i am going nuts. DAVE

I was always a fan on the TSW Blades, Had a set on my first MK2 Golf, then i "upgraded" to 17" Venoms, with a rather Gash rattle can spray job, no photos thank god, as the car also featured blue tinted lenses all round, and a sun strip, BOYEEEEE, and this was in 01, were a bit behind in Fleetwood! :0

Gonna be putting a set of Venoms, 7x15, in white, on my Jetta ;D got to get my finger out and make them white first but I think they will work I viewed them with scorn until recently, then one day I simply had to have some! If nothing else they will do until I can get a set of 3 spokes

mclellanmac - scary but in 2002 a mate of mine had a white 3dr mk2 with stealths, blue hella lights all around an white touring strip to, it was cool back then wasnt it lol. I had a E30 bmw with Stealths on it at the time to.
maladroit - white venoms, rude! i know a chap who has a 6n2 polo with white venoms on it and christ that drew some attention!!
The thing i have noticed about the Venoms in particular is most people in the late 20s early 30s had some or knew someone how had them on a modified car 10 years ago but try finding a set now they are suprisingly hard to get hold of especially in VW fit.
