I bought this Consul over 2 years ago when it was a standard saloon,
it was converted into a truck last year, all seem welded and reinforced
with 2x2 box section and angle iron, glass back window, inside the bed
its all boarded out in plywood.
This is a typical Mk 2 Consul......crappy air wipers and crappy
heater that just about clears the screen.it has a side exiting exhaust,
a new battery was fitted about 6 months ago and the front brake calipers
were rebuilt not so long ago.
Rock solid underneath as recently i've had to weld a few plates on.
The paintwork is the worse thing on the truck, its various shades of
matt black and primer, paint is flaking off and crazing everywhere...
but it goes well with the ratrod theme. really it needs someone to
spend a weekend on it with a D-A sander and some rattle spray cans. Its been driven everday since March and I do about 100 miles a week in it with no problems......but it is slow!....but all mk 2 Consuls are.
its still registered as a saloon on the V5, I did ring dvla
and was told to fill in the changes section and send it off...
but when the V5 came back to me it was exactly the same as before!.
......however I had no problems when I took it for the mot and the
tester was happy.
After 2 years of ownership I think its time to move on,so its up for sale for £1295.....but would prefer to swap it.
swaps...What ya got?, must be either a 60's/70's or 80's
yank car/truck or van or a pre 1970 british motor, nothing front
wheel drive please, custom or standard, auto or manual,car/truck
or van, prefer something with mot but try me.....Come on guys What
Ya Got?.........Morris Minor?/Hillman Minx?/Vauxhall Victor?/Ford Pop?/Volvo Amazon??? etc,etc,etc try me.
I am located near abingdon in Oxfordshire.
