right I assume this is the right area to post if not sorry my daughter has just got her first car a polo coupe, now she wants some wider steel wheels preferably capable of taking a hubcap. question is is there a standard VW wheel that I can get from a breakers etc that will fit straight on? and if so which model should I be looking for? the reason for the steelies is the stealth look, ie not in your face mods, also wants to lower it so anyone with any springs or knows where best to get them feel free to answer here or pm many thanks

Alternatively you could get some 13" Wellers which are available in a range of different widths . PhilJ on clubpolo is where the majority of people seem to get lowering kits

theres allways wellers down that yard.. its not a new thing, they get lots of retro tat in there...
wheel wise, see if you can get some gt steels ? they are 51/2j or some polo saloon / mk2 coupe wheels as they are also... they are all 13" tho.. but look good with a bit of a lowering job.. oh and if your lowering it, get the best kit you can afford. they cheap ones are curse word. and lowering springs alone will muller standard shocks unbelieveably fast....

mk3 golf steels can look good, heres the ones i have fitted to my mk3 polo hatch as for suspension. ive fitted a few phill j kits and never had any issues. they have a firm ride, but have been fine from a reliability perspective. I have heard stories of people having issues with leaking shocks, but i suspect this has been caused by the person fitting them not doing a very good job, as opposed to the kit not being very good

Corrado-steels look good also, and they are 14" I believe. But at least some bit wider that an original Polo steel.

Early 14" mk2 GTI steels are the same as Caddy van ones. Look ace, super cheap, what more do you want?
