For sale is my 89 GTM, which is a fibreglass with steel tub mini based kit car. I bought this in october 08 as I had a car shaped hole to fill in my garage. The intention was alway to get it back on the road after i'd done the spitfire. However, I have been offered a Lotus Elan which I cannot refuse. Therefore the GTM must go.
Its a factory built model, registered in 89 on a Q plate (i ahve the v5). as a factory model it has some extras fitted, such as modified front suspension - coilovers, shock mounts, adjustable lower arms. At the rear its standard mini suspension,. interestingly it utilisies metro 4pot calipers all round (vented front, non-vented rear)! with additional citroen handbrake spot calipers at the rear.
the fibreglass is pretty sound apart from the front clamsheel which has some localised damaged (easiliy repairable). the downside is the steel florrpan/tub has got a lot of surface corrosion. under a previous owner, the drivers window was smashed and the tub filled up with water as its left outside. I had a look at it and wasn't phased by the rust. it looks worse than it is. the tub is a simple square tube and flat steel construction.
could be rebuilt very easily as the front a rear subframes are mini so bolt on. all service parts are mini. would make a great track car as its very light. the windscreen is in good condition but new ones are available.
its missing an engine (i have a rebuilt unit for sale), driveshafts, wiper motor, drivers door glass.all obtainable.
its rolls on factory 5.5x13 minilights, tyres have gone flat but I inflated them and towed it back to Bham fine.
I'd like £550 OVNO
