Me, being clever like, thought it would be a good Idea to sell my BOC OxyAcetelene kit as it was not being used and costing a small fortune in rental just to be used once or twice a year, Now of course Ive got a little job where I need a fair bit of heat. When I was at skool we used to use a Gas/Air torch, powered by coal gas and compressed air, I'm having a feeling that I could possibly use a old BOC Saphire oxyaccet torch and feed it with propane and compressed air anybody care to offer suggestions as to will it work or not??

you can buy a nozzle for propane for the sapphire torch but as far as using the propane with compressed air rather than oxy, I don't know? , but as a guessitmate the air may blow it out rather than aid combustion

I know you can use air/propane in a blacksmith situation for case hardening and anealling but its not a concentrated heat source ..moreover a blowlamp ... like said i don't know ... PS keep us informed on how it goes

I think it'll work. Bear in mind though that a quick Ebay search may net you everything you need for buttons. Buy it, use it, stick it back on there The only thing to bear in mind is that, of course, most of the bottles on there don't belong to the vendor, they belong to the nice people at British Oxygen, who have the auctions pulled or send threatening letters to the vendors.
