An old friend of mine has a 1996 Toyota Camry saloon V6 Auto.
He has had the car ages as he used to work in a Toyota dealership (now retired)
He asked me to have a look at the exhaust as it was blowing and wanted to know where it was blowing and what parts needed replacement.
I advised him that the back box was blowing abut the front box and pipe to the back box (one welded piece) would be needing replacement soon as it was looking pretty shonkey
He took it to a local trusted exhaust shop in town and was quoted £737 + VAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The system is only available from toyota apparently.
just rang a local supplier...
Genuine only..
Front section £216 Midbox and mid/rear pipe £203 rear box a staggering £484!
+VAT
Might have to get one made up, would be cheaper.

Should be cheaper.
See if Ashley make one if he's not concerned about it being quiet, lol.

looks like it may come in at around £600 for a ss custom jobby and it needs new front discs.
It would be a crying shame if the car was scrapped for the want of a few bits and pieces, leather, AC, lowish motorway miles, it needs a good wash and wax and it would come up like new, it has 16x7 tsw 5 spokes too!! arrgh.

I used some of their stuff to make an Ashley system fit properly , but thats another story. Know that feeling! I just whined at Ashley a LOT and they fabricated the bits I needed for free.. So not all bad

Welcome to Japanese car parts prices. This is one reason why we bought an Espace instead of a Previa in the price bracket we were looking at.
If it were me, go to somewhere like Jetex or Longlife. About the genuine system, at least you know it will fit, and IMO genuine systems last miles longer than almost any pattern system (Both ArvinMeteor systems I have had on cars have had shot baffles within 2 years, and iffy welds even if the motor factors claim for them being 'OE' (whatever...)). But yes it is pretty pricey all the same, but not unexpected for a J car.

When i worked for a motor factors if you found an exhaust Walker or Bosal didn't list we would use a company called Chester Exhausts (CES UK) They was bloody good at finding stuff, 9 times out of 10 they could get something. Might be worth giving them a call, not sure if they deal with the general public or not but here there website www.cesuk.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=25

I used to build stainless and for a two box cat back on that we would have charged around £300 done and fitted in stainless.
Got to be the best option.
