I need to know how to change the clutch on my 1999 Mitsubishi Galant estate with the 2.5 24v engine.
I picked it up as a cheap daily as my sierra had blown its head gasket and I really needed an estate anyway.
It is a cosmetically challenged 1999 but underneath the grime seems reasonably sound, unfortunately the clutch is slipping so I want to sort it out.
I have had one garage estimate £457 to do the job which is more than I paid for the car - £169+VAT for the clutch plus 6 hours labour. Apparently Autodata says 5 hours but they have never done one of these so are allowing an extra hour.
I have changed a clutch on a Sierra but never done a FWD clutch nor a hydraulic clutch. So what is the general procedure for doing one?
If there was a Haynes manual for this car it would help as I would just follow that occasionally swearing when I hit the bits that don't quite match the manual ;D
