evenin, well sunny afternoon actualy! came to take my very retro ;D jeep cherokee owt for a play in the sun today, drove it up the road, clicked the lpg button and away she went, until i let of the throttle, she then died in a very bad smell of lpg, put her back into petrol, and returned home, the car will run fine on petrol, but as soon as its switched to lpg and i rev it, it cuts owt, lpg then comes owt of a hole on the side of the lpg pump, (which looks like maybe it should have a screw cap in it, but ive never noticed it, or touched it until today, and it drove fine before) theres enough lpg comes owt to freeze the actual pump over.
has my pump died? is there supposed to be something in the hole on the actual pump? altho I'm not beliving if there was something there, its just fell owt.
helps/thoughts and opinions apprechiated, as i need this solved asap, 12mpg out of a petrol car will bankrupt me shortly

Do you mean the big round reducer/vaporizer?
What make/model do you have fitted?

LPG cars shouldn't have an LPG pump. Do you have any pics?
The symptoms sound as if the vapouriser is freezing up due to a lack of coolant being circulated around. When was the last time that the coolant was changed in the car and how long are the hose runs to the hot water source? (this could be the heater hoses).
Failing that, the solenoid or vapouriser could be blocked internally and need a good dose of carb cleaner to clean them out.
If LPG is coming out of the vapouriser to the atmosphere and not going the reducer/injectors, it could be that the connections are damaged or loose, which is not great at all to have if you are a smoker or if your mates are (pooof.. bang.. add on after here).

vapouriser, thats the one I'm after, funnily enough id had a rad hose of earlier in the day because it was leaking, so i suppose the sujestion it wasnt getting any coolant to it may be a good one, as this happend directly after id started the jeep up, air in the coolant system could cause the above?
il take photos 2moro and post them up to answer the other questions.
and in reply to the last comment, i am a smoker, but i wont be until i get this problem solved!!!

On Rangies the vaporizer is often higher than the fill level for your radiator so you get an air trap up there which can be a reet pain in the ass to get out I am also a smoker and given i have a penchant for landrover products, i'll never be able to quit ;D

I will wait for the pictures to be displayed first, but if it is the vapouriser freezing up due to a lack of coolant (quite possible if it was fine before the hose change), and it/other parts of the cooling system (heater matrix for example) are sat higher than the expansion tank, put the heater blower on fully hot (this goes for any car), and get a makeshift header tank put on, as it has been done in this guide. Yes it's a 306, but the refilling principles could be the same . www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=17523&page=1
