Rian and Nicola (alias Grizz and Myrtle) are pleased to announce the arrival of their latest baby!
Myrtle is a gorgeous bouncing 1956 100E.
We are very excited and hope to welcome her home over this weekend!. - Reported by Nicola on : www.medwaymonkeys.co.ukWell, I guess virtual cigars and beers allround are on me then ?? Nicola has a Car she wanted a while now. Yep, must have looked at up to 10 cars, none in the flesh, realised these are rising in price, and found one for possibly more than hotrod money, but made the call, as they seem to sell as fast as they come to market. Had a friend, Phil (2002Gimp) go around yesterday and today to poke about, smell, taste, hear the car in the flesh. Made the decision to buy based on condition. Paid the man. Collection Saturday 7am. Dave (Oldbus) is coming over from Osnabruck in Germany on Friday night, hope to offload the car he is fetching by 12.30am, then sleep to 4.00am, up and on the road, load by 7.30am, back here by 11.30 - 12.00 midday at the latest, and Oldbus back at Dover by 13.00 for his Ferry back, then up to Osnabruck by late dinner time. Owned, garaged all its life etc, current owner since 2000. Not perfect, but pretty decent . Done about 39000miles. Pics. UNDER BOOT Hope to have her out at Classic Ford at Santa Pod next weekend.

I would (or maybe , I did ) I love the interior as well, earleir dash was just right IMHO. Thanks guys, It was not cheap, but I think the right money for the right car.

A great effort indeed.
Thanks Kev, I think the things I will be needing may be some chrome side trim, not sure what is included in the sale, and also more importantly : THOSE CLIPS for the trim to be held onto the body.

There's a three bar grille one in a back garden not far from me. Its been there for as long as I can remember, filled with rubbish and a tarp thrown over about 10 years go. Doubt its good for anything now...

Back to plans for the future.
Nothing.... honestly, nothing.
Daily driver, and weekend showoff car.
If I can find a complete set of banded steels for her, then I will add them , as she is stupid mad for banded steels with pointy hubcaps.
I think if we modify, it will be very sympathetically.
Though, if a Rotary could be eased in there without too much pain, and decent 4 or 5 speed gearbox, that may be considered.

Hi Rian, Sorry for not responding to yout texts/phonecalls - been a bit manic! SO glad you managed to find a good one - I had a quick nosey at the one in Bristol while the owner was out on Saturday....not as good as it sounded and certainly not as nice as the one you've bought. With that in mind, I reckon you got a good deal. You might not think it was cheap, but what cost would it be to get a cheaper one up to the standard of Myrtle?? That makes it cheap in my book. I can only begin to imagine how excited Nicola is? (and you for that matter! ;D) Sounds like you & Dave have another exciting weekend planned. RR spirit is very much alive and kicking. I'm currently having an early morning virtual cigar for you....I'll break out the champagne a bit later to celebrate. Nice work and I look forward to seeing some 'roadtrip' shots and the winning shot if Nicola with the keys/behind the wheel. Good work my friend.....

Looks like a lovely car, great buy I'd say. Remember collecting one of these with a mate few years back, 60miles away in pouring rain with vacuum wipers.......fun is not really the right word! A great effort indeed. Thanks Kev, I think the things I will be needing may be some chrome side trim, not sure what is included in the sale, and also more importantly : THOSE CLIPS for the trim to be held onto the body. THOSE CLIPS, can probably be found here www.bresco.com/Really great resource for all things clippy, and run by a really nice and helpful guy as well - I was at uni in Loughborough so couldn't belive my luck finding a place in the same town as me! I got all the clips I needed for the Superminx side trim from him (meant to be non existant these days) and they were all top quality and a great fit even if not really designed for Hillmans Good luck with the collection, sounds like you and Dave have set up another manic weekend!
