Hi guys,
a change in direction means i'm going to have to sell my s14.
The car in question is a manual touring in emerald. I wish I hadnt bought this car as it cost me a small fortune to put right when I maybe should have just broke it in the first place.
I bought it with what I believed to be a slack lifter but it turned out to be that it was the bottom end that was goosed and being as I bought the car in the dark, I didnt realise that a band of trained chimps had had a go at fixing the car previously. :annoyed:
Anyhow, I bought a new set of shells and sent it off to a local garage for them to be fitted but when the sump came off we found that the shells in it were brand new and the crank was f**ked.
Rather than mess about repairing the bodged engine I searched on here for a few weeks to find a good one which I did.
I bought the engine from INTERLOPER393 on the sxoc forum and it is a minter. 58k and came from an auto. I had this engine couriered from scotland to Grimsby and ended up paying £1,000 for the work done with the old engine and the fitting of this new one.
I just got back from Newquay on friday night after covering 1274 miles in 6 days with it and it really is an excellent motor.
The car itself is an emerald touring with the full black leather which is in very nice condition.
The bodywork of the car is verygood other than a couple of car park dents and the worst bit being a small patch of rust on th efront drivers wing. its just on the corner and is visible in the picture. It looks like its been a stone chip that wasnt treated. Ive been quoted £80 to have it rectified by a local bodyshop which seems a fair price in todays market.
The car is fitted with an unknown exhaust which sounds very nice although the tailpipe is a little large for my liking ( I prefer small tailpipes :ghey: )
There's a boost guage where the ashtray would have been and an aftermarket shiny gear knob. Under the bonnet there's a boost controller and apexi panel airfilter.
The car was running 15psi when I bought it (ive turned it down to 12 now) so I assume it has a different chip fitted.
Ive just put 12 months MOT and 6 months tax on it so theres no worries for the new buyer.
The car has done 115k but the engine has now only done 59k and it still handles awesomely.
The suspension is standard from what I can see and all the tyres have loads of tread.
Here you can see the bubbling on the wing where it meets the bumper
small scuff on corner of the bumper
As for a price....
I'm thinking £2,000 but am open to offers and would appreciate honest CONSTRUCTIVE opinions on the price.
I'd like to sell it on here rather than have to put up with time wasters on ebay.
You can ring me or text me on 07894112373 but I don't get as much time on the internet as i'd like so I don't always get to check my pms that regulary
I may soon also be selling my trackday s13 and my ca18det triumph spitfire so keep an eye out for those.
Thanks
Ross
