Hey guys and gals, I've been wondering how much of a market there is for banded steels....I know about wide-wheels etc and I know that people ask about them on here all the time, but would those people put their money where their mouths are? I was chatting to my engineering guys today about it and they can band them no problem...now, I trust these guys implicitly to do a top notch job as they're right at the top of their game and do a lot of OEM work for various car manufacturers, so there's no concerns as to the quality or the safety of the work I haven't got to talking about prices yet, but I'll be looking at undercutting the competition  .....I'm gonna get a set made for myself and then I'll decide for sure if I'm gonna go through with it, but for now, I'm just gauging interest So...any thoughts?  |

around 8-12 sets a month over here mate the demands there ,as for prices no mater what youll beat wide wheels there quite dear ,

I'm interested, thinking of banding some steels for the Merc. All depends on cost though (Doesn't it always? ;D ) |

around 8-12 sets a month over here mate the demands there ,as for prices no mater what youll beat wide wheels there quite dear , 8-12 sets a month? I knew they were popular but.... ;D |

alot of the vw crowd go nuts for em , and seem happy to pay daft prices for anything differant

huge market if the price is decent. but then they'll get popular and the show scene will flood i guess.
mate of mine would be in for some 14" 4x100 without a doubt.

Would anybody be able to re-rim a set of 2cv wheels into a 14"? Supposing I got a set of 14" rims and a set of 2cv centres, could they be turned down and welded (aligned properly) into the new outer?

Would it be possible to band a sheet-alloy wheel? I have got some wheels, which look like steels, but actually are made from sheet-alloy in the same way a steelwheel is made. These weigh in at only 4.7 Kilos each - which is great, but they could do with an extra inch or two, as they are 6x15. Have a picture of them - they are from a citroen C5  gentrix |
