Ok, it's nowhere near retro, i spose not for another 10 or so years but it's my daily runner to keep the miles and the dirt off the sierras, it's also cheaper on fuel ;D
Cant take credit for much of the work, as it was my brothers car which i only got when he found an ST200, and since he'd done so much to the car and covered the 100Kmiles since he bought it i knew it was a good car so i thought it better i have it rather than give it to someone else and then struggle to find a car as good, when i got it off my brother it already had fitted
17" RS7 spoke softlines
lowered suspension
full ghia x alchemey leather trim with 10 way electric drivers seat
electric rear windows
smoked lexus rear lights (which don't leak)
colour coded electric mirrors
twin exit rear exhaust system (it's just the rear section joined in under the spare wheel well) custom made by Dean at pipecraft (01268 285 535).
And the boot spoiler.
Since owning it i've only done minor things to it, starting with the he cheap and simple
ST200 carbon fibre effect gear knob
then the ST200 carbon fibre effect dash clock surround
then came the dvd touch screen system, which i only bought because it works with my phone (honest )
Then the front brakes started to wear out, so rather than just replace them, i upgraded at the same time, so out went the 260mm discs (i think) and in came some mk3 mondeo calipers and some focus ST170 grooved discs, and they improved the stopping power no end.
Then it was reported on the MOT that the rear wheel bearing was on its way out, again, rahter than just replace the bearing, and as i already had everything to do it and that the rear drums hadn't been looked at in a long time, i converted it from drums to rear discs.
On the whole it's been really reliable save for fords not changing the cam belt tensioner when they did the belt, since all that was done when my brother owned it and a few years had passed between them working on it, and it self destructing it well and truely raped my wallet, luckily the replacement lump seems as lively and as powerful as the original.
So there ya go, not bad for a 141K mile 1.8 mondeo ;D
