hiya people, I'm josh, I'm 17 and my uncle bought me a standard k reg 5 door peugeot 205 for my 17th. I'm planning to turn it into the blues brothers police car lol what do ya all think lol  the car is a nail at the moment but I also plan 2 turn it into a 5 door gti version lol |

That will have the TU engine in it. Mate had one of these but in white (well looked more like Old English after a while lol) but it served him well and it did go around corners well  . |

the car is a nail at the moment but I also plan 2 turn it into a 5 door gti version lol From my limited 205 knowledge I think you will have a job on there - the GTI shell wheelarches are larger radius and so the bumpers and arches won't fit without significant surgery. Plus I suspect you will get hammered on insurance as it is, without trying any modifications. Sorry to sound negative... The positive is that I have a pretty equivlent model (the XR, not the XS) and they are good fun as standard - a fair bit of roll but hang on well and handle nicely. |

I'd quite like a 5dr 205, i've seen a few good looking ones recently!
You'll struggle with the arches as they use plastic trims and the door will get in the way, however a GTi front valance will make a huge difference! I'm not sure if I might have one in that colour you can have although i may have dumped it. It'll essentially turn it into a 205 GT replica. Oh and a set of 14x5.5J 106 rallye steels and a 40mm drop will have it looking and handling pretty darn well!

leave it bog standard, but drive it like you stole it!!
nothing worse imho than a low spec 205 made to look like a GTI, it looks wrong and you just get laughed at when you get found out.
if its on 135's, stick 155/165's on and learn how to drive in it, you'll have a blast and remember it for life!

hi all. thanks for all your comments.
I have only just tuned 17 last sunday and I am waiting on my provsional to get here. the car has no tax or test but my uncle got me the car to learn how to work on them. so we are going to fix it up. we now know it needs a new clutch as the pedal is very very high.
I was not thinking about a gti body kit just the seats, brakes and suspension. it will stay as a 1.1 for the time being.
I do like the look of the front gti bumper and the 106 wheels.
what do you think about me painting it like the blues brothers police car. I have to stand out as my uncle has a satin black corsa 1.5 TD drag car, a chevy corsica hot rod look lowrider, plus has had rat cars, hotrods, yanks well all sorts lol
so I need it to stand out and by painting the car it will not make my insurance go up but will make the car look cool

ive picked up some new rear hed lights but i need 2 check the window mechanism because i think that one ov the bars have snapped i also need a new rear view mirror lol

A lot of my friends have retro cars and they all have enough sense and taste to not bodykit them and the likes ;D Good luck with the Project Josh. If I'm being honest, I think you'll regret the whole bluesmobile thing... I cant see it working on anything other than a big long yank. I reckon you should flat down the bodywork, get some matte laquer or something on there, get some rallye steels (they are the same pcd right?) and drop it like its hot! I think that anything like your plans sound a bit too much, but of course it is your project and I'm just saying what I reckon would look good, and probably what i'd do if I owned it myself. |
