I just got this off ebay. I have to pick it up this week sometime. My first car was a Metro just like this one, same colour and everything its going to save me petrol and possibly my drivers licence as I am getting too ballsy in the 240. Deeply uncool but undoubtedly retro Metro. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330313084244

I love old metros, so retro and I think there well cool, just most people won't think they are. Nice to see some people are keeping these cars alive.

I am getting bored with the volvos contsant need for petrol and new bloody parts, I just went to get some beer and on the way left a cloud of smoke in my wake, I could smell burning oil but couldn't see in the dark so I have left it.
I want a little fun cheap car.

Its an actual miniMETRO too, that gives it 11/10 on the coolness stakes.
Theres nothing wrong with wandering from the Volvo fold. No need to feel ashamed or dirty just because youve bought a metro!

I cant wait to get my greasy mits on it, paint the hubcabs black again, take that silly white stripe off and remove the AA badge. After that it will be kept totally original apart from maybe some Verdistien town and country tyres.

Went to fetch the car today, I couldn't be happier, its in really good nick, everything works, and the interior is like new, the body is suprisingly low on tin worm (for a 27 year old Metro) , it started first blip of the key with no blue smoke, suspension is great no sagging and ride is great and it handles well, the brakes, err they are present, I forgot how bad they were but I'm pretty sure they work as they should. Best of all, it had about a quarter of a tank when I picked it up 60 miles from home, I filled it up costing me £15 for 3 gallons. When I got home it was still 3/4 full, about 60mpg!!!!!!!! over double what the 240 gives. some better pics, I will put more up soon.
