ok as some may know my viva coupe ca18 turbo was recently sold to fund my new project.. something ive always wanted.. just watch "highwayman" and I'm sure u have all had the wanting for one too.... no..... well just me then ;D anyway ive always wanted a early barracuda fastback and when one came up for sale at the right price well I just had to have it, in a "you only live once" kind of way I put a deposit on this car before I really had the cash.. but within 10 days I did what I could and now I own it its not perfect but its not really bad.. some welding underneath (not too much) and it will be a pretty soild car. atm its a 318ci on a auto but all that will be changing with the first step just to get it roadworty with an mot. it will then get a full pollybush set (already got!) a new pair of superstock leaf springs for the rear. (on the scowl for a decent springh manufactor now!) and ive got a manual 5speed surpra gearbox and and anouther 318ci engine to playwith for the time being. the 318 ive got already has forged pistons and a decent cam and timing set. will be fitting some magnum heads (which I will post skim and port match) and a home made injection system, from a friends tuning company. should hopefully be somewhere in the region of 370 to 400hp. I want to build it not just for straight line speed or 1/4 mile fun but will be an everyday driver doing 300+ miles a week commute plus weekend fun on the strip/ the short circuit/ sprints/ and maybe a bit of drifting too.... anyway. its in the process of welding the underside atm and although time is tight I would love it to be ready for wheels day... but who knows.... less of the talk. we need pics..

Was it sold in the UK as a 318 ci? A 5 litre v8 is some serious muscle for a UK spec car. Lovely car and I didn't even know they did them in RHD.

Very nice, like the colour too. Cort16, remember South Africa and Australia are both RHD markets along with a few others, so the big manufacturers had enough reason to create RHD versions of some of the beauties we love so much. Mr Black8driver..... look here, you never know, you may find something interesting on here, or a link to what you need or want. Exchange rate is about R15 = £1 at the moment, it varies..... but thats a good avarage to look at. £2k gets you this, keep in mind.... no salted roads, minimal rust. Johannesburg car. www.moby302.co.za/

I still fondly remember mine even though it was 20 years ago I had it 318 with a four speed manual gearbox. I paid £750 and used to smoke around in it in my teenage years ;D going by mine and others iv'e seen they seem to crack between the rear window and the side windows were there is not much metal (flex I should think) and the chassis around the front wishbones cracks as well (more flex?) mine was a '67 so very slightly different rear lights and front. I got this 1/18 model for £2 of ebay I wanted a RHD one after driving a LHD one for a while as I always felt like a passanger rather than a driver. seeing yours has set me off again thinking maybe I should try and find one. but my sensible head says no (iv'e only seen a few RHD ones. were not early canadian cars RHD for a while?)
