Morning All,
Quick question, I've got a vague idea floating in my head about swapping over a four cylinder, turbo charged scandanavian engine into something else with a blue oval(cash permitting as ever!) - ok I confess into the hearse and its volvo turbo complete with autobox from a 940 ;D!. This would inevitably leave me with a bodyshell less engine/box ripe for a new engine itself.
Not wanting to weigh yet another shell in and along the theme of another concept lurking in the dark recesses of my mind I'm think diesel engine(2.5/2.8 four cylinder - not concerned about refinement for this idea - durability/simplicity will be the main focus). Since the likely donor will be post 91/92 thus catalysed I'm unsure how changing from petrol to diesel in this era of central computerised MoT testing will impact on the emissions criteria. Even if I notify our friends in Wales of the conversion(and as they state it's not an SVA issue since it'll only be engine/box), will the emissions criteria get changed in the system?Or will it be failed as the test system will be looking for petrol level emissions.
Anybody got any thoughts on this one? Many thanks!
