Strange fault on my pug 405, When you put the headlamps on the rear fog switch LED comes on, even when switch is out, but no rear fogs come on. Nothing happens when you push the switch.
However, with headlamps off, (sidelight setting) when you push the fog switch, the headlamps come on !
As if there is a short between the headlamp circuit and rear fog, and someone has disconnected the rear fogs somewhere as a bodge.
Any ideas ?

could be abad earth as electric always finds the quicket route to ground..

i would say a bad earth due to the fact you need the headlights on for the fog to work

by jove, you've got it folks. I didn't think of earth first, as that normally gives things ford-itis (things coming on dimly like a dodgy trailer) but sure enough inside the tailgate there were some bad multiplug pins. It now has numberplate lights, and reversing lights as a bonus!

I used to use a jelly that was designed to stop battery terminals corroding on the ford ones at work...
no-crode or something it was called....
