Bought at Christmas as a runaround for a few months and has served her purpose well, but I’ve put a deposit down on something more modern so this has to go...
The good
Serviced (and steam cleaned interior) upon purchase – new oil, oil filter, HT Leads, spark plugs, air filter, dizzy cap and rotor arm – best part of £100
Just had a new battery last month at a cost of £95
4 Pirelli tyres – all reasonably new, plenty of tread left
Sony CD player and changer in the boot
VDO gauges – although the oil temp one is a bit suspect – don’t think it’s wired up right
New starter motor supplied – although there’s nowt wrong with the old one AFAIK
The bad (being perfectly honest)
A small patch of rust above the driver’s side door – just a take back and respray job if you care
Fuel pump is a bit noisy – very common fault on these older Audis, can run for years without failing (new pump and filter supplied – have never got round to fitting them!)
Crack in passenger side headlamp – LITERALLY just noticed this tonight, mucho annoyed TBF. In all honesty would need replacing at some point, but lights still work fine.
MOT pointed out advisories on rear wheel bearings, and faded front indicators.
Could use a proper machine polishing as the paint has faded – I have the tools to do it and had planned to in the Summer, but needs must...
It’s a straight, honest, comfortable cruiser that looks a bit more special than an Audi 80 and still returns 37+mpg despite being a 2.2.
Car is based in Braintree, Essex – available for viewing evenings and weekends, and pretty much any time next week as I’m on school holidays!
