Basically I have been given a chance to get a Beetle from an old school mate of mine, this Beetle was the first bug I went out in and holds a lot of memories for me.
I have no idea on the value of beetles so was looking for some help in offering him a decent offer.
Things I know about.
Car is a 1968 upright headlights etc
The car has been standing (garaged) for the past 14 years.
My mate started to get it back on the road about 14 years ago, then just left it. It has 'new' wings front and rear, new bumpers (inside the car), he mentioned it had the brakes replaced but again that was about 14 years ago.
General condition is poor, but seemingly quite solid.
Not sure if the engine will run
I was going to offer about 150-200 quid, would this be a reasonable offer?
also are there any places I should look out for as major failing points on Beetles, I know the area around the battery has atendancy to rot away but where else should I check?
