wandering around the web whilst sitting at work and I can across this... I think it was a Type 3 fasty, but might have been a notch, not sure. Apart from the mini that is/was the lowest car in the world are there any more of these stupidly chopped motors about?

Hmm, I'm not a fan of extreme chops like that... it's like shortened Minis (not MINIs) and the like - OK for novelty value I s'pose but I don't think I could live with it even as a 2nd or 3rd car! There was a shortened VW camper at RTTS. That was fun to watch him doing stoppies and wheelies in the car park!

There's a red Volvo estate that's done in a similar way, too!

There was a shortened VW camper at RTTS. That was fun to watch him doing stoppies and wheelies in the car park! That takes me back a few years, was it this one photographed by myself @ RTTS 91? Ooops, 1990 judging by the date on the back window of the over-sized pic!

I can't believe (due to the large number of Imp enthusiasts) that there's been no mention of the car 'IMPressed'. It was built in the late eighties and held the world record for being the lowest car in the world at about 26" or so until the guy built a mini under 2ft.

is that camper the original guise of 'frosty' that's resurfaced a couple of years back? it was doing wheelstands at bugjam last year i think - i know it was looking rather tired after it's first few years of shows and it all got rebuilt and repainted....

I believe so. In it's original guise I think it got featured in VWorld (around Dec 89) as Dolly Mixture.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.
