Hotwire - I know you want to keep the Forum home page tidy, but would it not be worth while having an ebay specific category to keep it easier for people when they spot something new. No offence taken if you tell me to get knotted ;D

Aah, I didn't bother looking at the ebay thread because I'm only on 56k modem, so I didn't know that was the idea.
And as for HTW moaning about me not puting pics up, I can't, this computer won't let me get the url from ebay

i 'think' theres too much ebay content going through this forum to stick to one thread, imo that ebay thread would get a bit messed up with people writing comments about different ones etc.
personally, i think an ebay section would be better, like you did with the gran turismo thingy.
IMO of course, youve ran this forum for a few years now and are in a better position to judge whats best ;D ;D

I do think that it may be a little too big for one thread, but I'm reluctant to agree to an ebay section...to be honest, there's one already - it's called ebay!
The ebay thing becomes a problem when people see a single car that's only real interest is that it's for sale and start a new thread.
Personally, I won't start an ebay thread unless there's a pattern or theme...one which should spark discussion and debate. A single car on ebay isn't really enough for a new thread IMO, and in most cases there's usually somewhere else to put it in a current thread. Currently there's a recent Volvo, Ford, Opel, VW, Japanese and general ebay thread, as well as various others that could take a relevant car, should you find one.

So it's ok if I want to start a thread about... volvos, but if I want to start a thread about estates then that's not allowed? Do you not think a Datsun 120y estate is quite a rare thing and worth mentioning?

No,.. the point would be to start a thread about Datun/J wagons,.. then bung your ebay find on the end of it as an example of one you can buy. If you've just found an interesting car on ebay then bung it in the ebay post. If you've got more to say in relation to that kind of car, like finding other examples as inspiration then that could be a post on it's own. Or if there is a thread about wagons up on the board and this was put in as a cool wagon to buy that would also make sense. |

Well firstly I was quite surprised that everyone didn't go - wow, 120y estate, I want to buy in now etc., I guess they're not as rare as I thought then. Do you not think that endless sticking of cars onto the end of 4 and 5 page threads only makes for difficult browsing of the board? If you log back in after say... a day, you have to trawl through the thread finding out where the bit that you haven't read starts. It's also terrible for 56k users. Personally I would find this forum very annoying if I had dial-up due to the amount of threads with loads and loads of pics in them.
Anyways it's your board so if you don't like something then move it!

I agree an "Ebay Thread" would be easier. Love the Sunny by the way, it looks quite tidy and even has the old jellybean mags.
