Right, I need one of these... as I'm rather partial to ripping bits off of scrapped motors, I was wondering if any motors had these as stock? If not, I suppose I'll have to get one new... not something I really want to do, as anything relating to "tuning" seems to have an over-inflated price ticket... Any ideas? I was thinking maybe Ford RS Turbos or something might have them.... not sure...

id be wary of putting one on matey. i put an empi one on my 411, which turned it from a fire breathing monster into a coughing and spluttering piece of sh*t. took it back off and all was fine again. irocco seemed to know his stuff, maybe he can help. he gave me plenty of advice

Oh yeah I remember now! Basically I wanna ramp up the fuel pressure on the injection system so I don't have to use bigger (expensive) injectors. If I can increase it to 60psi the injectors should flow enough... Although I don't think I'll be all that comfortable having 60psi of fuel running around the place.... eeesh, maybe bigger injectors would be better

Sorry should've mentioned, it's for the injection system. Stock they run at about 40psi.

If you are a REAL skinflint you can squeeze the existing pressure regulator in a vice to compress the spring a bit and increase the pressure that way. You'll need a pressure gauge to see what your new fuel pressure is though.

hy don't you use the pressure regulator from a Djet equiped car, such as a 3.5 116 V8 from merc or a 914 Porsche, volvo 1800E,Saab99E,Renault R17 etc all have adjustable regulator which can force the pump to gwo over 100PSI!.Some of the 3.5 mercs have two regulators and some of the OZ 117 V8's have the adjustqable regulator on the Kjet system. They look similar to the vacuum contolled things on Ljet too.The screw is where you turn it to "ramp" up the pressure to loonatic heights ;D

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

If you had to go new you can get them for around £50 on ebay as I had been having a look at getting one for the monza

Well, I know I do things on the cheap MrB but I think that's too "ghetto" even for me! ;D I'll have a look out for any D-Jet motors at the scrappy - when I got the engine it didn't come with the pump or anything. I'm aiming to run a fuel pump from a Jaguar XJS V12 (hopefully this will chuck enough fuel out). If all else fails I'll buy a new one, or just get some injectors with a big enough flow! ;D
