Anyone know any breakers yards in/near London that may have retro Mazda parts?
It's been years since I fossiked round a breakers yard looking for obscure bits. ;D

I was going to ask a similar thing for South Wales earlier in the week,... until it turned out I'm skint until the end of the month.
But it would be good to know for future reference,.. are there any websites that contain this kind of info??

Hmmm...Its been getting increasingly difficult obtaining bits, even for things that was as common as a Datsun. Chances of finding anything for a pre 1980 japanese car rates close to impossible. There was a great breakers yard in Cobham, which had quite a few old japanese cars, but that has been cleared for some time. I would use the interweb personally, specially from Ozzie and kiwi breakers. I found a bootlid for my old 810 Bluebird for a reasonable price from a contact in Sydney and the shipping wasn't as expensive as I imagined.

I know of a scrappie in Greenock with a vandalised but surprisingly solid early Mazda RX7, but I suppose that's no good, seeing as it's more than 450 miles out of your way!

Bit of a trek for a "random" visit... but I'vefound no end of automotive oddities at this place:
Rush Green Motors London Rd Langley Hitchin SG4 7PQ Tel. 01438 354174 Fax. 01438 353560
Rev #9 would love it there too: There's a lorry scrapyard full of old Scammells, AEC's and that kinda thing!

There's an internet page called 'Find A Part' which links a number of scrapyards around the UK...you enter what you're looking for and one will contact you if they have it. Used it for a number of non-retro cars, and also to source an interior for a 1984 Audi 80 quattro a few years back - you might struggle with something more obscure though.
